Theatre Of War – A Little Gem.

This series of games got a bunch of mixed reviews when it first came out. This also coincided with the release of the Vista operating system. I purchased all of the games in this series a few months ago for just a few quid. They have been sitting in my Steam library until just a few days ago I decided to try the Africa 1943 campaign because I am in the middle of reading the Rommel Papers (great book).

I tried the fiddly tutorial that comes with the game and I have to admit I just found this annoying. So I plunged into the campaign and Oh Man! I am glad I did. This reminded me of Graviteam Tactics Operation Star. The maps are huge and the battles that take place are brilliant. The detail immense. A lot of the complaints back in the day were of game crashes. I am yet to have any crash of any sort. Vista was a load of crap.

I am goring to do some videos on this series without a doubt. In particular I am going to focus on Operation Epsom the battle that took place shortly after the D-Day landings. The map looks sweet and a place where it is hard to fight.

If you were put off by these games back then it really is worth giving them a go on today’s more stable operating systems. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Indeed is a fine game, that explore an interestings scenario, I’m back playing again and it’s a 8 years-old game but still have some punch, got great physics.
